Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
This recipe has been in the family for a long while. They're my favorite of the few desserts that have been passed down to me, and are relatively easy and quick to make. The recipe below has been transcribed from the recipe card that has been used for the last 50-odd years, including a scan.
Here's what's cookin': Chocolate Chip Cookies
Serves: 60 Cookies
Preheat oven to 190°C/375°F.
Cream:
- 250 mL/1 cup Butter
- 250 mL/1 cup Sugar
- 250 mL/1 cup Brown Sugar
Add:
- 2 Eggs
- 5 mL/1 tsp Vanilla
Mix:
- 500 mL/2 cups Flour
- 625 mL/2½ cups Oatmeal
- Blend into a powder after measuring.
- 2½ mL/½ tsp Salt
- 15 mL/1 tbsp Baking Powder
- 15 mL/1 tbsp Baking Soda
Mix all.
Add:
- 375 mL/12 oz. Chocolate Chips
- 125 mL/1-4 oz. grated Chocolate bar
- 375 mL/1½ cup Nuts
Roll into 2½-5 cm/1-2 inch balls of cookie dough.
Bake ungreased at 190°C/375°F for 6-10 minutes.
